BETTER - CHEAPER - FASTER ...

Yes, you and your students can have it all.

This Is What Makes It BETTER ...

Armond Dalton restricts its publishing to only high quality accounting and information systems supplements. Each of these is written by accounting faculty who has extensive university teaching experience and a reputation as an excellent teacher and textbook author. All but two of the supplements are authored by either Al Arens or Dewey Ward, or both of them. (See the About Arens & Ward link for information about their qualifications.)

All books, including revisions, have been extensively student tested either in classes or by multiple students outside of the classroom. Student testing focuses heavily on making the materials easy to understand. To improve the readability and potential for student learning, we use the feedback from our student testers to create high quality materials.

Most of the books are now in the third or later edition. The Systems Understanding Aid is in the seventh edition. These books have met the market test and have thereby demonstrated their quality over a long period. We are optimistic that the first edition books we are currently publishing will also become multiple edition books.

Carol Borsum is involved in the writing and production of all books and is available to discuss any book with faculty. She is also the primary resource person available to discuss and solve software problems.

CHEAPER ... It will cost your students less.

Armond Dalton has always been concerned about the high price of books to students. It is not unusual for accounting texts to cost students more than $150 and for supplements to exceed $100. Because of our concern for students, we can offer a cost savings due to the fact that we have efficient operations and no need for a sales force as a result of the high quality of the materials themselves.

For example, although there is no significant competitor to the Systems Understanding Aid, Armond Dalton management went to several bookstores to ask what they felt would be a reasonable selling price for this material. The consistent response was a suggested price of about $100. Armond Dalton management has decided on a suggested retail price of $52.00 for that publication.

We also examined competing publishers' web sites for supplements similar to our Computerized Accounting using Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 and Computerized Accounting using Peachtree by Sage Complete Accounting 2008. In both cases, comparable books had a recommended selling price of more than $115. The Armond Dalton recommended selling price for both of our publications is $69.00.

FASTER ...
