About the Authors

About Al and Dewey as co-authors

Al and Dewey have both taught full time at Michigan State University for more than thirty years and written books for more than twenty five of those years. They believe teaching and writing books are closely related and do the same thing-help students learn. Al and Dewey have a passion for teaching and writing books.

As teachers and book writers they attempt to make complex topics easier for students to learn without compromising their understanding of the material. In their books they do this by careful writing, but they also follow the philosophy that students learn best by doing.

All three books published by Armond Dalton that they co-authored focus almost exclusively on having students do activities that help them learn important information and concepts. When you read about their credentials as teachers below, you will know about their ability and passion for teaching. When your students use the books they write, you will know about their ability and passion for writing books.

This involved research and publication of education related articles and textbooks, service and success on national forums dedicated to education, outstanding performance in the classroom over his lengthy tenure at Michigan State, and supportive recommendations from leading educators around the country.

His interest in writing textbook materials began as early as his doctoral program at The University of Texas where he single authored the first edition of The Apple Blossom Cologne Company, an audit practice case, now in its 5th edition by another author and another publishing company.
